October Tasting

OCTOBER 16, 2021: OctoberFest Beer & Bites

Dust off the lederhosen and grab your best drinking stein as we are celebrating all things Germanic and OctoberFest!

WHAT’S INCLUDED IN THE EVENT?

  • Four craft beer that celebrate the Germanic styles. Specific list of beer will be released closer to the date.
  • Four Germanic-inspired dishes to pair with the beer including some Nuremberger sausage from Bull & Son’s Deli, a pretzel with mustard from The Bikery, cheese pierogi with homemade sauerkraut from Sult Pierogi Bar , and a mind-blowing black forest cake from The Dutch Bakery.
  • 1-hour online Zoom meeting. Participants will be emailed a link to join our online tasting. You will need a Zoom account in order to participate (we will send out instructions on how to join).
  • Beer & food boxes can be picked up from our Downtown location at 470 Belleville Street. Instructions and time for pick-up will be shared prior to the event.

The event is co-hosted by Bonnie Todd (founder & owner of Off The Eaten Track) and Joe Wiebe. Joe is the author of Craft Beer Revolution: The Insider’s Guide to B.C. Breweries, the definitive guidebook to British Columbia’s burgeoning craft beer industry.  He is also a co-founder and Beer Director of Victoria Beer Week and the Content Manager for the BC Ale Trail project.

CAN YOU SHARE THE SAMPLES?

Of course! The tasting was designed for one person in mind however it’s very common for two people to do the event together and share. We’ve added the option to increase the food samples so that you can share the beer samples but have your own set of food. You can add an extra food pairing upon booking the event.

 

November Tasting

NOVEMBER 06, 2021: Dark Beers For Dark Nights

Winter is coming and it’s time to get cozy and drink dark beers and eat comfort food. Don’t fancy yourself a dark beer drinker? We think you will be pleasantly surprised.

WHAT’S INCLUDED IN THE EVENT?

  • Four craft beer that lean towards the dark side, but don’t worry, they won’t all be stouts. Specific list of beer will be released closer to the date.
  • Four indulgent comfort food dishes including some gooey stinky cheese + crackers, some warm spices nuts, fresh pasta with rich tomato sauce, and a homemade apple pie.
  • 1-hour online Zoom meeting. Participants will be emailed a link to join our online tasting. You will need a Zoom account in order to participate (we will send out instructions on how to join).

December Tasting

DECEMBER 04, 2021: Beer & Cookies

Beer & cookies? Yes please. Pairing beer with sweet dishes is an art form and we hope to create some pretty tasty combos. Plus you get to drink beer and eat cookies so pretty sure it’s going to be an awesome tasting event.

  • Four craft beer that will pair with our cookie and sweet selection.
  • Four holiday inspired baked goods including some shortbread, some gingerbread, Christmas cake and more!
  • 1-hour online Zoom meeting. Participants will be emailed a link to join our online tasting. You will need a Zoom account in order to participate (we will send out instructions on how to join).
  • Beer + Food Boxes can be picked up from our Downtown location at 470 Belleville Street. Instructions and time for pick-up will be shared prior to the event.

What are Online Virtual Events?

We’ve taken our signature story driven culinary experiences and moved them online! Sip, sample, and savour the very best cuisine and beverages made here in British Columbia and Vancouver Island. We curate a selection of food & drinks that can be either shipped or pick-up from our downtown kiosk. Then guests join an interactive Zoom meeting where a local expert will take you through the tasting. We have partnered with some of the most influential local foodies for a truly unique and delicious online experience.

HOW DO I BECOME A CLUB MEMBER?

Sign up for our newsletter to be emailed a special code and sign up for all three events! 

Can I make substitutions for what is in the box?

At this time we are unable to substitute items. 

What if I’m vegetarian or have dietary issues?

We have a vegetarian option that you can order. Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate some food allergies but please call us at 778-918-4584 and we can see if we can make some adjustments.

where do I pick up the box?

Your box including the beer + food samples will be at our downtown kiosk at 470 Belleville Street inside the Steamship Terminal Building.

How are you maintaining safe practices?

Each of the partner restaurants are certified kitchens and all are practicing the safe protocols.
