Here at Off The Eaten Track we want to make sure we are always on top of Vancouver food trends, and that is why we have decided to add some amazing local pizza to our tour. That’s right, we now have a gourmet ice cream AND pizza tour! Re-live all your childhood fantasies and enjoy 2-hours of pure eating pleasure! This tour has 3 awesome ice cream stops and 2 delicious pizza samples. You even have a chance to add a local craft beer to your tour to truly blow your adult foodie mind!
We start the tour at The Belgard, a modern restaurant housed in an old steel factory in Railtown. Here we will sample their Heirloom Caprese Pizza made with cashew mozzarella, sunflower seed pesto, and white balsamic drizzle. This vegetarian thin crust pizza is a sophisticated masterpiece. Feel free to adult-your-tour and add a craft beer from Postmark brewing for an additional $4 charge. Well worth it! Next, we head to the trendy Railtown Cafe for some gourmet ice cream made by their pastry chef Alex Abley. This modern cafe is making gourmet ice cream in a variety of flavours and we will try three of their most popular. We then get a guided tour of historic Railtown, one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Vancouver, before we reach our next destination. Pastry-chef extraordinaire Eleanor Chow Waterfall is founder and owner of Cadeaux Bakery and one of the best pastry chefs in town. Here we will try her famous ice cream sandwich made with their house-made ice cream and salted chocolate cookie. Yum. We then sample some Roman-style pizza from a trendy Gastown pizza shop and end the tour at Soft Peaks. This beautiful ice cream shop uses local organic milk to make their signature soft serve dishes with unique and delicious toppings. Hello Tim Tams! This tour is absolutely family friendly and kids are encouraged to join.
